November marks the start of the winter heating season, which is a time where residential use of natural gas is the highest. This is because of the lower outside temperatures and the powering of gas heat and other appliances. Customers of Columbia Gas will see lower bills this season, and the average bill for November 2013 will be approximately $58.69. This low monthly bill amount correlates to the lowest November cost per hundred cubic feet (ccf) unit price in over fifteen years. The November 2013 price of .478 ccf is beat only by the Novmeber 1998 price of .44 ccf . This season’s natural gas pricing is a lowered rate that all of Columbia Gas customers can enjoy.
